Gary Neville believes Manchester City’s dominance has become boring and admits he finds it difficult to watch.

Pep Guardiola’s men have won five of the last six Premier League titles and have gathered momentum this season by winning their last 11 games in all competitions.

Their latest win came on Tuesday night when they beat RB Leipzig 3-1 in the Champions League to take control of their last-16 tie, but Neville has revealed he couldn’t bring himself to watch the match.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Neville said: ‘I didn’t turn on Manchester City (vs FC Copenhagen) on Tuesday night. I felt a little bored.

‘I saw a post from a Liverpool fan where he said he watched all of Sir Alex Ferguson’s games against Manchester United in the Champions League because he felt like there would always be excitement somehow. lose, otherwise they would win and the game would be exciting.

Roy Keane has defended City and says their brilliance deserves to be admired

City have won eleven games in a row and are on course for consecutive Trebles

‘You just can’t look at City, it almost looks like they’ve blown it up a bit.

‘It would be wrong to call City boring because the football they play is excellent, but I actually thought they were boring. I found it hard to look at them. Since Erling Haaland left (with an injury) they have been a bit more imperfect.’

City won the Treble last season and are on course to repeat the feat this year, although Marcel is less than enthusiastic about the way they are achieving their success.

However, former United captain Roy Keane jumped to City’s defense and praised their ability to be so dominant for so long.

‘(Manchester City are boring) because they are so brilliant!’ he replied when responding to Neville’s criticism.

‘I understand where people are coming from, but I don’t agree when fans say that about City (being boring) – they are very technical and last night’s stats are unbelievable. I know it was just FC Copenhagen, but they beat Manchester United.

“I admire things like that – I admire it when a team can dominate so much, whether it’s possession, the players, their style. I love their playing style because of its brilliance.

We see a lot of teams trying to play possession games and not getting anywhere, but they (City) are also killing it by winning and scoring goals.

I’d give City the thumbs up – obviously how we were at United, but I understand the argument – even Liverpool have been a bit more emotional in recent years, progressing quicker – but because they’re so technical and brilliant, I admire that .’
