- Yves Bissouma's foolish dismissal was Spurs' fourth of the season, and his second
- They suffered when they were down to nine men against Chelsea and Neville warned them
- 'There is no greater waste of time!' What is the point of the Club World Cup? It all starts
Gary Neville has warned that Tottenham will sacrifice points if they continue their 'reckless' challenges despite their 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest.
Yves Bissouma was shown a straight red card for a thoughtless foul on Ryan Yates with Spurs leading 2-0 and will miss the next three games.
The midfielder was dismissed for the second time this season after a VAR check caught his boot scraping Yates' shin as he mistimed a challenge.
Spurs are now bottom of the Premier League Fair Play table – with a disciplinary record more than twice as bad as Arsenal's – and Neville accused them of 'madness'.
He told Sky Sports: “We haven't seen challenges like this for years. These have to stop.

'It's a straight red, banned for three matches, and absolutely, I have no sympathy whatsoever. They no longer exist (these challenges). They were banned 10 or 15 years ago! It seems like they've come back in within the last month or two.
“They're so talented, these players, (Cristian) Romero, (Destiny) Udogie, probably a few more I could mention. They are so talented and (it is) so important for Spurs that they are available, fit and in the team.
“For them to lose them all the time through all this… look, I've been sent off two or three times in my career and made a few mistakes. But some of these players are sent off two or three times a season, and they are the same players.
'They have to stop it because it will cost Tottenham. Without these players, Spurs will drop points.
“If they're hurt, there's nothing you can do about it. But if they are continually rash and reckless with these challenges, it becomes stupidity, it becomes madness.
“I bet he's angry inside. I bet the Spurs fans are angry. I'm a little angry because I haven't seen a team play football in a few years that has made me as excited as this team, knowing that I'm going to get a good game of football.
“They need to put an end to these little bits of bad discipline. I accept that it is an obligation, but they just seem to do it regularly. They have to stop it.'
Referee Jarred Gillett assessed the foul on an on-field monitor before waving a red card
Bissouma's red card was his second and Tottenham's fourth of the Premier League season
Romero and Udogie were sent off in November following Tottenham's 4-1 defeat at home to Chelsea.
Cole Palmer converted the penalty after Romero's mistake to make it 1-1 and Nicolas Jackson scored a late hat-trick as Spurs struggled with nine men after Udogie's dismissal.
In addition to Bissouma's sending-offs, that means four dismissals for Tottenham in the league this season – the worst record in the Premier League along with Liverpool.
Bissoum was given his marching orders for the first time this season against Luton, when he was shown a second yellow card for diving.
Ange Postecoglou's side have also collected a whopping 44 yellow cards, a total surpassed only by Sheffield United and Chelsea.
Asked about his team's foul and poor discipline after the match, Postecoglou said: 'I didn't see it, but I assume they slowed it down and saw it.

Ange Postecoglou said discipline is 'something we talk about all the time' at Spurs
“Yeah, it's been a bit of a problem. It's a fine line with those things. The players are aware that they do not want to miss any matches.
“And the fear they caused the players, I think today it was more desperation than anything unpleasant, and we've had to deal with that a few times this year.
'You can't keep doing it like this because in the end we will pay a price for it (like when we did against Chelsea).
“So it's something we talk about all the time. But like I said, it's a fine line between their commitment to what we're trying to do and not overshooting the target.”
