Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer hilariously reflect on the BBC’s infamous ‘porn gate’ scandal that embarrassed the redhead pundits last season… as the Newcastle legend jokes: ‘I thought it was MY phone! ‘

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have reflected on the infamous porn scandal that left BBC presenters red-faced during last season’s FA Cup coverage in January.

At the start of the year, during coverage of Liverpool’s replay at Wolves on BBC1, embarrassing groaning noises started playing, visibly confusing the pundits and leaving viewers in disbelief.

Lineker and Shearer appeared to be tickled by the chorus of sex noises before the BBC quickly cut away for a pre-match interview with Jurgen Klopp.

Looking back on the incident months later, Lineker and Shearer admitted they found the incident hilarious before revealing fears it had played out on one of their own phones.

Speak with FourFourTwoLineker said: ‘I was interviewing Alan when it was actually happening.

“Yes, I was on co-com,” Shearer said, “so I was in the stadium. I could hear it, and part of me thought it was my phone!’

Lineker intervenes and says, “It’s the porn he listened to the night before!” which Shearer can only laugh at.

Shearer then claimed: ‘I’ve been misled by people sending me that video so many times and I’m thinking, ‘Did it go off on my phone, in my pocket?’

“I tried to be professional and ignore it; I only started laughing when you (Lineker) started laughing!’

Shortly after the competition started in January, Lineker tweeted to confirm he had discovered where the noise was coming from.

“Well we found this taped to the back of the set,” Lineker wrote alongside a photo of a cell phone. As far as sabotage goes, it was quite entertaining.”

During the half-time analysis, Lineker told Ince and Murphy: “Harvey Elliott’s goal was a screamer… and that wasn’t the only goal we had tonight.”

The topic quickly trended on Twitter, where YouTuber Jarvo69 claimed to be behind the sex phone prank that left experts red-faced.

The tweet was accompanied by a short video showing him backstage at Molineux Stadium and at the door of the BBC studio.

A livestream on his YouTube channel shows the prankster watching Match of the Day at home while repeatedly calling the phone taped to the back of one of the chairs.

The BBC apologized after sexual noises interrupted live television coverage of the FA Cup. “We apologize to any viewers who were offended during tonight’s live football coverage,” the BBC said.
