The Princess of Wales announced at the age of 42 that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing ‘preventive’ chemotherapy.
In a deeply emotional video message filmed in Windsor on Wednesday, Catherine revealed that the news had come as a “huge shock” and that she and William “have done everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family . ‘.
Despite the shocking news, Kate’s uncle Gary will still attend the live final, where he will be reunited with her housemates and presenters AJ Adudu and Will Best.

He was facing eviction over The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren Simon.
But since his brutal removal from the show, he has since returned to the real world.
Speaking to Good Morning Britain, Mr Goldsmith said: ‘I haven’t spoken to Kate for ages. In years, maybe a year. Weddings and funerals are when we see them.”
Mr Goldsmith also commented on the Mother’s Day photo his niece edited, saying the family looked “beautiful” and “really authentic” in the photo.
Although it was revealed that Kate had edited the portrait released by Kensington Palace, the millionaire businessman said: ‘The smiles on the faces said it all to me, I loved it.’
During his time on the show, the businessman revealed royal secrets in the Big Brother house that have left his family ‘furious’ as his niece Kate recovers from abdominal surgery.
Despite some viewers cringing at his behavior, he insisted in his exit interview that he was “achieving his agenda” while living in the house.
In his first interview on Late & Live he said: ‘I had the best time, I went in with one agenda and I achieved it in five days.
“I don’t consider myself a celebrity, I’m just related to someone who is a big celebrity.”
Kate’s mother’s brother, Carole Middleton, was fined £5,000 and given a community order in November 2017 after pleading guilty to one charge of assault.

His wife accused him of taking drugs, the court was told, and a London taxi driver witnessed her being knocked to the ground outside their home.
The inclusion of Kate’s uncle in the show was criticized by Women’s Aid, who said that ‘the inclusion of men convicted of abuse in entertainment programs will already be a sign that these crimes are not taken seriously’, and the charity advised the program to consider his appearance.
In a statement released on the show, he previously said: “I am not perfect and I made a mistake, a personal feud seven years ago that came to light publicly and that I have worked endlessly for seven years to rectify.
“The crime was committed a long time ago, but my regret remains.”
ITV was reportedly forced to ‘carefully edit’ his comments about Kate and King Charles on Celebrity Big Brother.
Jennie Bond told the Mirror. ‘Everything Gary says about the Royal Family is a headline, it’s great for the show, it’s publicity for ITV.
‘And yet they must be aware that they have a duty to safeguard and protect the health of the individual, not to mention the royal family.
‘So I imagine lawyers will look through it, but yes, there will be some careful editing. I think they can give even the slightest inkling as to what is going on with the Royal Family – with the Harry situation, Catherine’s health or the King’s health, they will do their very best to keep that to see.’
Mr Goldsmith, who made his money through recruitment and was once worth £30 million, is said to have been kept at arm’s length by the Middleton’s in recent years.
This is despite the fact that he attended William and Kate’s wedding in London in 2011 and that of Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton to James Matthews in Berkshire six years later.
Mr Goldsmith regularly speaks out in support of Kate, who is said to call him ‘Uncle G’, and has previously praised her as ‘the most spectacular person I have ever met’.
Kate’s mother had harsh words for her brother before he entered the Big Brother house, fearing he would reveal secrets about the royal family.
