“It’s quite nice here, I have to say, it’s a lot of fun.”

“We drank a lot of wine and laughed a lot,” Gary says of the series. ‘And the big discovery when we arrived was that Michaela Strachan had lived there for 20 years. I never realized it.
‘Michaela was at the very first TV appearance that Take That ever did, she introduced us to The Hitman And Her. She took me out in a kayak to Seal Island.”
When asked if the wine lover owned a vineyard, Gary said: “Oh god, no. I don’t know if I’d like that, to be honest.
“The role I play in all of this is to offer my audience a choice of what I believe is the best wine in the world and make it affordable.”

In the second episode, Gary stomps grapes in the Cape Winelands and meets Michaela for a ‘jazz safari’ through Cape Town.
They go home with musician Hilton Schilder to taste his Cape Malay Chicken Curry.
“The chef canceled us at another place, so me and Ben Shephard had to cook,” Gary said of the show.
“Well, we were braaiing, so we threatened some food with fire. That’s as good as it got, but it was a good laugh.’
