Our guide to the best dash cams could use a refresh in the near future: Garmin has launched four new models, giving you even more choice when it comes to a camera that records everything that happens to you and your vehicle.
The Garmin Dash Cam X310 tops the new quartet of cameras. This camera features a 2.4-inch LCD display, 4K Ultra HD video quality, built-in GPS, and advanced driver awareness warnings that can alert you to nearby speed cameras and warn you when there’s a potential for a frontal collision.
For a little less money, you can get the Dash Cam X110 and Dash Cam X210. These are the same as the Dash Cam X310 model, but the maximum resolution of the video quality is 1080p and 1440p respectively.
The last dashcam in the new series is the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3. This one no longer has a screen and has become smaller, about the size of a car key. This is easier to get in place and less distracting while driving. This model offers 1080p video recording.
Voice command support
One of the clever features Garmin has built in here is support for voice commands. This means you can control various functions on the cameras (such as starting and stopping video recording) without taking your eyes off the road.
Garmin has also added a Clarity polarizing lens enhancement, which reduces interference from glare on your windshield. This gives you the best chance of capturing the evidence you need in the event of an accident or criminal damage.
For even more functionality, you can install the Garmin Drive app on your smartphone. This lets you sync footage from up to four Garmin dash cams, if you’ve really splurged on vehicle monitoring technology.
