Gareth Gates has revealed he is helping his daughter Missy get a record deal as she seeks to follow in her famous father’s footsteps.

The 39-year-old singer, who will be touring in September to pay tribute to The Jersey Boys, admitted that the 15-year-old already has her sights set on fame.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, he revealed that the budding artist is already working hard to perfect her skills and that she takes dance lessons every evening after school.

After watching her father rise to fame as the runner-up in the Pop Idol contest in 2002, Missy has followed him around the UK since she was a baby to keep an eye on him.

And Gareth mused, ‘She’s kind of following in my footsteps.’

Gareth continued: ‘She’s got a great voice. She’s a great dancer. The more she gets in and around that music world, the more she learns.

She dances every night after school. You know, she’s actually going through all her numbers.’

When asked if he would enter her into singing competitions like he did, he admitted that he would rather see Missy write songs and get a deal that way.

“I would actually like to sit down with her first and write songs with her, and then try to get her a record deal,” he added.

He then went on to say that he would love it if she would tour with him in the future, thinking that he would eventually become “her backup singer.”

Missy has already gained recognition in the industry, as she has been approached by The Voice Kids.

The beginning of her talented journey through the arts comes as Gareth prepares for a tour of the UK.

However, Gareth admitted that he would love for Missy to write and sing songs, but that he doesn’t yet know which direction she will take when she makes the leap to fame.

Gareth shares Missy with his ex-wife Suzanne. The former couple were together for 10 years before splitting.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, he revealed that the budding artist has been working tirelessly to perfect her skills, spending every evening after school taking dance lessons.

He is currently in a relationship with theatre maker Allana Taylor. He only made his relationship with the talent public last summer.

Gareth will front an all-star cast of West End performers as they pay tribute to The Jersey Boys.

He delivers an exciting vocal ode to the iconic sounds of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

With more than five decades of airwaves and a staggering 150 million records sold, the Four Seasons have left their mark on music history.

Gareth feels honored and excited to follow in their footsteps and bring this tribute to life.

He will perform many of his big hits such as Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Sherry, My Eyes Adored You, December 63 and many more.
