Gareth Bale’s football career may be over, but his golf career may just be getting started.
The former Wales, Real Madrid and Tottenham star, who announced his retirement earlier this month, has confirmed that he will take part in the upcoming AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Bale will join other celebrities competing in the event at California’s famous links alongside some of the world’s top professionals.

The former Wales and Real Madrid soccer star’s love of golf has been well documented.
The 33-year-old wrote on Instagram: “Thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am early next month! Let’s go.’
Bale’s love of golf is well known and he is said to have a three-hole golf course at his home, but the fans had been a controversial topic during his football career.
He was a source of scorn in particular during his time at Real, where he won five Champions League titles.
He will be joining a host of celebrities competing in the event at the famous California Links.
He posed, while on international duty with Wales, with a banner reading: ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order’, a move that caused a violent reaction among the club’s supporters.
The Welsh FA will offer Bale a traveling role following his retirement from football on Monday.
One of Britain’s greatest players ended a career that brought 21 major trophies, including five Champions Leagues, as well as three major tournaments for his country.
Wales bosses are keen to keep Bale involved and are set to hold talks with the 33-year-old’s camp in the coming days.

Other celebrities listed to play include actor Bill Murray and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
