Gareth Bale seems to be embracing LA life, as the former Real Madrid star has been seen throwing the first pitch at Dodger Stadium.

Bale moved to Los Angeles FC over the summer after a mixed nine-year spell at the Bernabeu and has already had an impact on the pitch, scoring twice in his opening four games in the MLS.

The Wales captain threw out a first pitch alongside his American teammate Kellyn Acosta ahead of the LA Dodgers 10-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.

Acosta could only manage a grounder, but Bale throw a reasonably accurate pitch, albeit with an unorthodox technique.

It wasn’t enough to impress his club though, who captioned the video of the pitch ‘stick to football!’

There was also a more expected display from Bale, as he performed soccer tricks with a baseball.

LAFC sit top of the MLS Western Conference and have won each of their past five games.

In their last win, Bale showed his class with a spectacular solo goal, while fellow big-name signing Giorgio Chiellini showed the icy pragmatism England fans will know him for by gaining a tactical yellow card for swatting the ball away with his hand.

Bale appears to be settling nicely into LA life. He said in a press conference a few weeks ago: ‘The transition has been just kind of normal and what I expected. It’s going to take some time – I would be in pre-season now in Europe, so I’m getting my fitness back up quickly.

‘The club is doing an amazing job to kind of progress me and not pushing me too quick, so I’m starting to feel better and better each day as training goes on.

‘I’m enjoying it here. Everybody at the club has made me feel very welcome very quickly and I feel very settled straight away, and I think any player will tell you if they feel happy and settled, they start to play their best football.’Â
