Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer has married her fiancé David Oakes, MailOnline can reveal.

The actress, 41, who shares a young daughter with the Vikings: Valhalla star, 39, celebrated their nuptials with an intimate dinner at Roth Bar & Grill in Bruton, Somerset, last month.

The couple are believed to have been married during an intimate service nearby on the same day and spent the evening drinking expresso martinis with their inner circle.

A source said: “Natalie and David kept the wedding very low-key, they didn’t want it to be a huge party, although it was certainly a day to remember.”

“They just wanted to share the moment with a select group of people, as they are very private people. But it was a beautiful ceremony.

The newlyweds were spotted sipping on Malbec wine as they enjoyed a three-course dinner at the restaurant with two other couples before continuing the evening with cocktails.

On Monday, David confirmed the couple’s union, writing on Instagram: ‘Three weeks ago we formed a civil partnership during an intimate and private ceremony in Bath and we couldn’t be happier!’

Natalie and David began dating in 2019 after starring in the play Venus in Fur together two years earlier.

She was previously engaged to director Antony Byrne, but the couple split in 2018 after dating for 11 years.

The timing of the breakup came shortly after Natalie admitted that co-writing her thriller In Darkness had created “massive arguments” at home.

Natalie, who played Margaery Tyrell on HBO’s hit fantasy series, gave birth to her daughter in January 2021 and joked that she got pregnant during the pandemic because there wasn’t much else to do.

She said: ‘It’s the perfect thing to do during a pandemic, to get pregnant and have a baby.

“I feel like I’m probably being a bit clichéd. She’ll probably be sitting in a bar 30 years from now on a date saying, ‘Yeah, I’m a Covid baby!’

“I think there will be a lot of Covid babies, because what else can you do?”

Speaking on That’s After Life! podcast, The Tudors actress added: “She’s an absolute joy. I’m never going to complain about shooting hours again because lack of sleep is another thing.”

MailOnline has approached Natalie and David’s representation for comment.

Natalie admitted that her TV and film acting career would be challenging with a baby, as she discussed juggling motherhood and future roles during the 2021 interview.

She said: ‘I’m going to find it very difficult I think, you don’t want to distort the childhood experience.

“People in the industry I’m in rely on babysitters and they do it for a reason so they can take the kids with them.

“But I want to say that for me, this is the perfect time to go back on stage, because then I could be with her all day.”

Last week, Natalie confirmed that she will star in the South African crime series White Lies, and it is currently filming in Cape Town.

She said: ‘I’m delighted to be in Cape Town and kick off this beautiful and exciting show.

‘South Africa has a lot to offer an international audience in its storytelling. I’m really excited to bring all eight episodes of Darrel to life with such a talented group of directors, led by John, and a terrific cast.”

As well as starring in various movies, plays and TV series including the ITV drama Victoria, Natalie’s husband David is also a passionate environmentalist and hosts a national history podcast called Trees A Crowd.

In recent weeks, she has shared a picture of a church on her Instagram story, as well as a creepy driveway, believed to be located near where they got married.

Last week, Natalie confirmed that she will star in the South African crime series White Lies, and it is currently shooting in Cape Town.
