Galaxy Book5 Pro leak shows Samsung’s thin and light laptop could be powered by 8-core Intel Lunar Lake CPU and Battlemage GPU
Samsung’s Galaxy Book4 Pro hasn’t been on the laptop market for very long, and the company is apparently already planning the next iteration of this popular portable laptop, which according to a new leak will feature one of Intel’s next-generation Lunar Lake CPUs .
The Galaxy Book5 Pro (model ‘Samsung NT940XGK-DSD’) was discovered in the SiSoftware benchmark database by regular leaker @momomo_us on X (formerly Twitter).

The current Galaxy Book4 Pro made the jump to one of Intel’s new Meteor Lake chips when it arrived in early 2024, but the Book5 Pro is switching up again, this time to a Lunar Lake processor as mentioned – presumably when the laptop ships early this year released. 2025. (That’s pure guesswork, of course, but it makes sense that this is the time frame).
The leak shows an 8-core Lunar Lake chip with four performance cores and four efficiency cores (and clock speeds up to 2.8 GHz, but we wouldn’t pay much attention to that as this is still early testing and the CPU has won’ is not yet close to his final speed). Xe2 integrated graphics are also on board here.
Analysis: Shooting at the moon with low power
As a low-power silicon, Lunar Lake will sit under the Meteor Lake range for Intel. Designed for high efficiency, these Lunar Lake processors deliver relatively snappy performance in thin and light notebooks like the Galaxy Book Pro. They offer plenty of grunt for their low power consumption, as well as Xe2, the next generation of Battlemage graphics, to boot.
Battery life should also be very strong, if the rumors are true, and there’s a lot of promise in this next generation of laptop CPUs from Intel. All of this could make Samsung’s MacBook-like laptop even stronger when it debuts, as mentioned, probably early next year – and the Galaxy Book4 Pro has already made the effort to earn a spot on our best laptops list.
This leak actually comes quite early, suggesting that Lunar Lake is on track for a late 2024 launch, although as the grapevine has previously suggested, it likely won’t hit shelves in meaningful quantities until 2025. . We might even see the Galaxy Book5 Pro at the end of this year, given this leak is now emerging, early doors – but sticking to an annual cadence for new models seems like Samsung’s most likely approach (as it has done before).
These chips will likely be the first outing for 2nd generation Arc GPUs, with Battlemage desktop graphics cards possibly having their potential release timeframe pushed back to Q1 or even Q2 of 2025, according to the latest rumors.
