Gaby Roslin discusses ditching alcohol and embarking on a health overhaul as she poses for stunning new Prima shoot: ‘I’m lucky I didn’t have a problem’

Gaby Roslin candidly discussed her health overhaul, including ditching booze, in a new interview on Wednesday.

The TV presenter, 59, looked fantastic as she posed in a colorful ensemble on the front of Fine Magazine.

Gaby spoke openly about her wish she had quit alcohol sooner, and about her husband David Osman.

She told the publication: ‘I wish I had given up booze sooner and I wish I had known how much better I would feel for it. Five years ago I gave up walking. If I had a hangover, I wouldn’t walk.

‘I’m lucky I didn’t have any problems and didn’t drink much. But the wonderful joy of not drinking is that you’re about to leave a party. I can just say, “Okay, I’m going now, bye.” I don’t miss it.’

Gaby is married to publisher David and they share daughter Amelie, and she shares daughter Libbi-Jack with ex-husband Colin Peel.

Gushing about her marriage, Gaby said: ‘My husband, David, and I are just perfect for each other. He is my second husband and we have been together for 18 years.

‘We still really appreciate what we have. The things that make it work is that we don’t compete with each other: we are very, very different. ‘

The couple married in 2013 after announcing their engagement in 2012 when Gaby appeared on Loose Women.

Gaby, who turns 60 next year, continued about dealing with midlife. She said: ‘There is a lot of ageism. It’s no secret in my industry, but it’s everywhere. You can’t do this or that when you’re a certain age.

‘No! I’m lucky that I kept working, but I have friends who have been through it. I know an actor who, at age 55, played someone older than her and was told she was too old. They cast a 40 year old. That’s so wrong.’

Gaby is a presenter and broadcaster who first appeared on our screens in 1992 in the Channel 4 series The Big Breakfast.

The Big Breakfast originally ran from 1992 to 2002, with Gaby co-hosting the show with Chris Evans from the show’s inception until 1996.

In 1993 the program was the highest rated breakfast show in Britain, with around two million viewers per episode.

Gaby remained on the show until 1996 when Zoe Ball took her place. Other well-known names who presented the program include Kelly Brook and Denise Van Outen.

She told the publication: ‘I wish I had given up booze sooner and I wish I had known how much better I would feel for it. I stopped running five years ago because of running. If I had a hangover, I wouldn’t walk.’

Gushing about her marriage, Gaby said: ‘My husband, David, and I are just perfect for each other. He is my second husband and we have been together for eighteen years.’

Last year, Gaby spoke to The Mail On Sunday about the programme: ‘Chris and I hit it off from the moment we first worked together.

‘It was great to work with him; he thinks all the time. We never had a script, we just bounced off each other and made things up as we went.”

As a girl, Gaby sat next to the screen during Blue Peter broadcasts and took on the role of an imaginary fourth presenter, causing her father – former BBC newsreader Clive Roslin – to pretend he was filming her.

Reflecting on finally being able to fulfill her childhood dream, she added: ‘I can still remember the moment I heard ‘Ten Seconds to Live’ for the first time in my earpiece. It was everything I hoped it would be. I’ve loved every moment since then.’
