Gabrielle Union reveals that her daughter thought Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour was a BLUE IVY concert: ‘I had to explain that to her’
Gabrielle Union told a hilarious story about her mother-daughter date during Beyonce’s Renaissance tour People that her 4-year-old daughter Kaavia James Wade thought it was a Blue Ivy concert.
The 50-year-old actress joked: “I had to explain to her that Blue is only a small part of the concert.”
Gabrielle’s mini-me, who she shares with her former NBA star husband Dwyane Wade, 41, is “obsessed” with Blue, according to her mother.
According to the Bring It On star, her daughter was absolutely “delirious” with joy at the opportunity to stay up past her 7pm bedtime, as Beyoncé didn’t take the stage until 8:30pm.
However, Kaavia lost interest when the actual headliner took the stage, with Gabrielle recounting how, “Blue comes on and when she’s gone and Beyoncé comes back, she’s like, ‘Where’s Blue?’

Continuing the story of Blue Ivy’s biggest fan, the memoirist added that Kaavia was “keen to get back to her best friends and we’re there, watching the queen do her thing on the biggest stage, and Kaavia says, ‘Blue Ivy’s biggest fan. is gone? The mom is cool, but she didn’t even sing “Single Ladies,” Gabrielle explained.
Now, the Renaissance World Tour is referred to in the Union-Wade household as “the Blue Ivy Concert,” according to the Bad Boys II star.
The concert was a family affair, with the former Miami Heat point guard and the couple’s 17-year-old daughter, Zaya, joining in on the fun.
All jokes aside, the Cheaper By The Dozen star highlighted why she and her husband felt it was so important to take their daughters to the Beyoncé concert in the first place.
Creating “these core, lifelong memories and being able to give her what my parents gave me” was crucial to Gabrielle when it came to celebrating Kaavia’s birthday.
According to her A-list mother, the Renaissance Tour experience was a treat for Zaya, too.
“(Zaya) is the biggest Beyoncé fan and she was at Club Renaissance having the time of her life,” the Cradle 2 The Grave actress noted.
She also raved about the Cuff It singer’s star power, saying, “Bey is such an amazing woman and artist and it was a big party that felt like something way beyond a concert.”
The author of We’re Going To Need More Wine still felt like she had an “afterglow” from the concert several days after the family got together.

The Nebraska-born Hollywood star added that the family outing was extra special since it was Kaavia’s very first concert… and Beyoncé’s birthday.
In the adorable caption below the video about Kaavia’s experience with Queen Bey and Blue Ivy, Gabrielle’s youngest daughter wrote, “Renaissance Kids Club…it’s a thing!” Happy Birthday to Queen Beyonce…these besties will remember our spectacular first concert experience 4eva.”
The You Got Anything Stronger author also shared fun photos of the family all glamorous for the Renaissance Tour on her Instagram page, including a sweet video of herself, Kaavia, Dwyane and Zaya stepping out of an elevator in their unique looks.
“Style is generational,” Gabrielle joked in the caption, with a winking emoji.
