Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has revealed what happened during his argument with Man City goalkeeper Ederson during their recent Premier League match.

The Gunners triumphed 1-0 on the day thanks to Gabriel Martinelli’s late, deflected goal which left the City goalkeeper stranded on the wrong side of the net.

Despite Arsenal’s impressive victory, one of the main talking points of the afternoon was the post-match argument between Kyle Walker and the Arsenal staff.

Some fans were quick to point out a relatively minor argument between former teammates Jesus and Ederson in the final moments of the match.

The incident occurred in stoppage time as the Arsenal striker pushed City defenders back through their corner flag before conceding a foul.

After the whistle, Jesus started to kick the ball before Ederson arrived and knocked his compatriot to the ground.

Both players received a warning from the referee and the Arsenal star has now revealed full details of their split.

He told a press conference: “I have a good relationship, not only with Ederson. But on the pitch it’s normal.

“Ederson and I spent a lot of time together at City and we were very happy. He knows how much I love him and I also know how much he loves me.

“But on the pitch he defends his team and I defend mine. It was a moment when we were winning and it’s not easy to beat them.

“We were winning and I kept the ball there. Anyway, he ended up pushing me, but then everything was normal. We got together to talk. That’s it.’

The main talking point of the match, however, was the clash between Walker and Arsenal manager Nicolas Jover.

The England defender was captured confronting manager Nicolas Jover after offering Walker a handshake which was rebuffed following Man City’s 1-0 defeat.

Walker’s teammate Erling Haaland intervened as tensions rose between the two sides, as did Emirates security, but the brawl continued as the England international was escorted down the tunnel.

It later emerged that the incident was a result of Manchester City’s agitation over the Arsenal manager’s behavior last season.

Mail Sport understands Jover’s refusal to shake hands with City stars after last year’s two league matches – both lost by Arsenal – was seen as disrespectful by the champions.
