Gabriel Agbonlahor suggests Casemiro should have been ARRESTED for grabbing Will Hughes by the throat against Crystal Palace, comparing the act to ‘Brock Lesnar in the UFC’ following the Brazilian’s shocking red card.

Gabriel Agbonlahor has suggested that Casemiro should have been arrested for grabbing Will Hughes by the throat in Manchester United’s win over Crystal Palace.

The midfielder has been a revelation for the Red Devils since his arrival this summer from Real Madrid and has been almost always present in Erik ten Hag’s midfield.

But he saw red in the second half of the game at Old Trafford on Sunday, getting involved in a fight involving several players.

He put his hands around Hughes’ throat and, after a VAR check, was shown a straight red card by referee Craig Pawson, much to his surprise.

Speaking in TalkSportFormer striker Agbonlahor insisted Casemiro needs to be disciplined internally by United, likening his actions to a move by the UFC.

“Casemiro thought it was Brock Lesnar in the UFC,” Agbonlahor said.

‘The way he was strangling Will Hughes, he should be arrested for that. The kids are seeing that later, in Match of the Day. See Casemiro strangling an opponent.

‘This is not ice hockey in America, where they have a fight during the game. This is football, we don’t want to see that.

“So Casemiro needs to be banned by Manchester United.”

After the game, ten Hag criticized the decision to single out Casemiro after a 20-man fight.

“I see two teams fighting each other,” said the United manager. I see two teams where multiple players crossed the line, and then one player gets picked and sent off. For me, that’s not right.

“When Casemiro is sent off for this incident, they should have sent off many more players. You have to be constant.

When asked if Ayew should have been one of them, Ten Hag replied: ‘Definitely. He did even worse than Casemiro. Casemiro, you freeze the shot and it crosses the line. Definitely. You have to be consistent with the VAR.
