John Fury has claimed boxing icon Mike Tyson accepted his exhibition fight proposal when the pair met in Saudi Arabia.
The meeting came when Fury’s son Tommy fought and defeated Jake Paul in February.
Tommy’s brother Tyson was also in attendance, the heavyweight champion was named after Iron Mike.
Fury Sr idolized Mike Tyson and has spoken multiple times about how it would be a dream to throw in the ring with him.
And he says this is something that Tyson was actually open to.

“I said to him on the podcast (not yet released) me and you have to do something and fight,” Fury Sr. told me. The mirror.
‘Do you know what he said? “Yes, I would like that”. When he said that to me, it was the highlight of my life. If I can get into the ring, punch for punch, whatever he wants to do if I’m executed or die on a gurney, then my life is complete.
“For who better than a man who has meant a lot to me because I named my son after him.
“Tyson is the heavyweight king, so I think the world of him. He’s a great guy, a man’s man with no bulls*** and he’s learned from his experiences knowing what people are like now. He’s a rough ride like me, we both learned a lot, didn’t we.’
Tyson is still in great shape for his age and fought in an exhibition match three years ago
Tyson formally retired from boxing in 2005, but took part in a successful exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.
The 56-year-old is in excellent condition and does not rule out a subsequent exhibition.
Fury Sr continued to praise the boxing legend, saying, “It was great for me to meet Mike Tyson. A great, great champion, he was such a kind and emotional man and he wore his heart on his sleeve.
“I can only feel sorry for the man, because he was mistreated, but he was a great champion, sometimes terribly successful. It was an honor for me to be in the same company as him.’
