Fury at Queen Rania of Jordan’s ‘grotesque’ CNN interview attacking US and Israel for Gaza strikes and questioning if Hamas killed babies
Queen Rania of Jordan was eviscerated today for an extraordinarily candid interview in which she attacked the US and Israel over the attack on Gaza and questioned whether Israeli babies were really murdered by Hamas on October 7.
In last night’s interview with veteran CNN reporter Christiane Amanpour, Queen Rania – whose parents are of Palestinian descent but who grew up in Kuwait – said there is a “flanking double standard” around the world when it comes to sympathy for the victims of the war.
She made a brief concession that she “of course” condemned the murder of Israeli civilians by Hamas, but mainly spoke of the need for more support for the Palestinians and a stop to Israeli ground attacks.
The unusually candid interview surprised many and has angered Americans today, who decried her hypocrisy when Jordan refused to accept Palestinian refugees.
Among them was Alyssa Farah Griffin, a CNN contributor and co-host of The View, who furiously tweeted: “Beautiful interview with Queen Rania.
Queen Rania of Jordan during her CNN interview last night in Amman. She denounced Israel’s retaliatory attacks against Hamas and said there is insufficient sympathy for the Palestinians.
‘She is trying to find a moral balance between Israeli retaliatory attacks and Hamas terrorism. Spare me your outrage while you live in luxury and refuse to accept Palestinian refugees.”
FOX and Town Hall’s Katie Pavlich called it a “disgraceful and grotesque display.”
‘An absolutely disgraceful display by Queen Rania of Jordan in which she, who takes full advantage of the freedoms afforded to Western women while living in luxury and ruling over an Arab country, releases a screed devoid of facts and full of slander.
‘The *Queen* calls Israel an apartheid state, conveniently ignoring that Arab-Israelis have full rights as citizens, including the right to vote, while denying that their babies have been slaughtered – and saying that dead babies have not been ‘independently verified’. They were.
‘She deplores a separation wall as a violation of ‘international law’, but fails to mention that it was erected after numerous suicide attacks on nightclubs, buses and restaurants by Palestinians in Israel.

She justifies October 7 with ‘context’ and calls the focus on Hamas a ‘fixation’, while at the same time expressing frustration over the use of the word terrorist to describe ‘Palestinians committing violence’.
“No condemnation for Hamas killing its own people and holding them hostage in Gaza, which it bizarrely calls ‘occupied by Israel’ even though they left in 2005.
‘She and her husband, the king, still refuse to accept refugees (whom she says she cares deeply about) into their own country. Grotesque.’
Israeli activist Yoseph Haddad went further, calling her the “Queen of Support for Terrorism.”
“Queen Rania of Jordan brazenly said in an interview with CNN that there is no evidence of the beheading of children in the Hamas massacre, a blatant lie she is spreading around the world.
“First of all, here’s a photo I wish I hadn’t posted: of the severed and burned head of a massacre victim. It is difficult to say whether it is a child or an adult because the terrorists made sure to burn it,” he said, posting a pixelated image of a burnt corpse.
CNN’s Christiane Amanpour took issue with Rania’s denial that Hamas was slaughtering babies. She said there was evidence they had shot and burned the bodies of babies, and appealed for sympathy for the Israelis, saying: “How did you feel on October 7?”
The 53-year-old spoke to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour and was asked how she responded to October 7 ‘as an Arab, as a Palestinian, as a mother, as a human being’

“It is utterly ridiculous that severed heads are somehow seen as evidence that Israel is lying, completely ignoring the fact that an undeniably brutal massacre took place here. Everything is documented and photographed.
“As if it’s okay to shoot, stab and slaughter babies… You have a new title: Queen of Jordan and Queen of Support for Terrorism!
Amanpour said during an appearance on CNN This Morning today to discuss the interview that Queen Rania expressed a belief that “most of the world agrees with.”
‘The most important thing is that she expresses exactly what the rest of the world thinks.
“The world where the Muslims and many, many other parts of the world believe that there is, as she said, a blatant double standard,” Amanpour said.
In her interview, Queen Rania called for the same condemnation of the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza as that of Hamas on October 7.
“Are we being told that it’s wrong to kill a family, an entire family, at gunpoint, but it’s okay to shoot them dead?” I mean, there’s a blatant double standard here.
“And it’s just shocking for the Arab world,” she told veteran reporter Christiane Amanpour, before questioning whether babies had been “slaughtered” by Hamas.
“I’m not arguing for accuracy, Christiane, I’m advocating equality and double standards here,” she said angrily.
Amanpour responded that it had been verified by CNN reporters as well as other foreign media on the basis that Hamas was slaughtering babies, but he stopped short of demanding a condemnation from the queen of the terror group’s practices.
Amanpour made a direct appeal for sympathy for the Israelis and condemnation of Hamas, asking whether Queen Rania “accepted” that they had caused suffering to the Palestinians.
The full, unedited footage will not be shared with the public, Israel says, unless all families of those killed view it and give their consent.
Hundreds of journalists and photographers from media companies around the world yesterday attended the screening of a film containing various images showing the extent of the horrors committed by Hamas.
Queen Rania made a brief concession, but then returned to criticizing Israel and its allies.
“These are the rules of war and they should apply to everyone. Yes, there is the shock and there was the condemnation (toward Hamas). But why is there no equal condemnation for what is happening now?’
“Even if Israel defeats every last Hamas member, what then? Have they not left behind a trail of terrible memories that will spark a new generation of resistance, more fierce and violent?’
Earlier this week, the Israeli government showed 200 foreign journalists Hamas bodycam footage of the October 7 attack.
The reporters said there was no doubt about the brutality of the attack.
Israeli government spokesman Eylon Levy also released a video describing the gruesome content of the images.
