Furry professional gamer SonicFox has an adorable cameo in the Lil Nas

Lil Nas, a documentary about the queer pop star that made its streaming debut on Max on January 27, features gaming’s most famous furry in a pair of cameos. Six-time Evo champion Dominique ‘SonicFox’ McLean makes several appearances in their full fursuit, albeit with no introduction on the film’s part – but we’d recognize that blue-and-orange fur anywhere.

SonicFox has long been a fan of Lil Nas inviting the fighting game phenomenon onto the stage during a concert in New York City in October 2022. Long live Montero features some very brief footage of this moment as part of a montage of Lil Nas

The documentary also features extensive B-roll of fans dancing and showing off their concert outfits, with SonicFox (and a few other furries) appearing in multiple shots. Again, the documentary does not introduce or mention SonicFox; fans will just have to recognize them by their appearance. However, that won’t be difficult: SonicFox’s signature fursuit has appeared on many tournament stages before.

There are other cameos inside Long live Montero – like Madonna, for example – but SonicFox and Lil Nas They may come from completely different industries, but Lil Nas They’re both unapologetically themselves in public, regardless of what the audience may think – and that energy is contagious in the best way possible.

Lil Nas is all about that atmosphere and so much more. You can stream it now Max.
