Furious victims of HMP Wandsworth inmate ‘filmed having sex with female prison guard’ slam reports he WON’T face police investigation over his actions as they claim ‘This is not what we thought it meant to get hard time in prison’

Victims of a prisoner who was filmed allegedly having sex with a female guard have criticised reports that he will not receive further sentences, claiming that ‘this is not what we thought a tough prison sentence entailed’.

Linton Weirich, 36, from West London, was filmed on a smuggled phone appearing to have sex with prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu at HMP Wandsworth.

The incident involving the serial burglar, who is currently serving a four-year, nine-month prison sentence, has sparked a police investigation into the married De Sousa Abreu, 30, who is accused of misconduct in public office.

The conman, who was jailed after stealing £65,000 worth of goods from a safe in a luxury Kensington apartment, was remanded in custody but is unlikely to face further punishment and is not being investigated by police.

A victim targeted by Weirich in January said, “I was aware of the video. I just didn’t know this was our burglar. The whole thing seems surreal. This is not what we thought it would mean to get a serious prison sentence.”

“It seems the prison guard is the only one being punished.”

Weirich had broken into the woman’s home while she was doing some remodeling, but was only able to steal a few drill bits before he was arrested.

Officers had caught him because of the ankle monitor he was wearing, the woman explained. “I don’t think he’s the sharpest weapon in the fight.”

Another of his victims, who said his bike was stolen by Weirich in December, said The sun: ‘He’s certainly not the smartest if he just targets everyone around him.

“I understand why the police managed to catch him. However, it is hardly justice if he is enjoying himself in prison.”

This is according to a report from MailOnline that Weirich’s partner is seven months pregnant and was taken to hospital due to stress, as she feared she was going into premature labour.

A source close to her said: ‘This is the last thing she needs in her condition, it is extremely distressing. This stupid video has affected her health, she was admitted to hospital last weekend due to stress. She fears it will cause premature labour.’

Weirich was sentenced to four and a half years in prison at Kingston Crown Court on June 7 for burglary of a dwelling and theft.

Photos posted to his Instagram page show Weirich with the same tattoo on his arm as the man in the alleged X-rated video.

Six years ago Weirich pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on the M6 near Stafford.

He also admitted assaulting a police officer with intent to resist arrest, driving without a licence and driving without insurance when he appeared at Stoke-on-Trent District Court in March 2018.

Meanwhile, De Sousa Abreu, 30 and married, appeared in Uxbridge Crown Court yesterday charged with misconduct in public office.

The prison officer was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Saturday before she could board a flight to join her family in Madrid, the court heard yesterday.

She attempted to travel on a Portuguese passport, but her passport was confiscated by the Metropolitan Police.

De Sousa Abreu appeared in court on charges of misconduct in public office by “performing sexual acts with a prisoner in a prison cell.”

Wearing a gray tracksuit specifically designed for custody, she spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address.

Prosecutor Niamh McDonagh told the court: ‘Ms De Sousa Abreu was arrested at Heathrow Airport where she was booked on a flight to Madrid. I believe she has relatives living there.

‘When she was arrested, her Portuguese passport was confiscated by the police. She is a Portuguese citizen with a Portuguese passport.’

Gayathri Yogarajah defended her by stating that De Sousa Abreu had informed HMP Wandsworth of her travel plans and that these had then been passed on to Scotland Yard.

She has been granted conditional bail and will appear for a plea and case management hearing at Isleworth Crown Court on July 29.

She must remain at an address in south-west London given to the court. Her Portuguese passport must remain with the police and she must make no attempt to get it back.

She is prohibited from applying for or being in possession of international travel documents. She must present her Portuguese identity card, which allows her to travel.

The Sousa Abreu is also prohibited from entering any British port and must be electronically monitored between 9pm and 7am.
