A man has reacted after being described as a “worthless human being” by the anonymous author of a handwritten note on his wife’s car.

Shane Carr, from Murray Bridge about 50 miles south-east of Adelaide, vented on social media after discovering the cheeky note earlier this week.

The letter accused Mr Carr of leaving his dogs outside in the cold, which he denied.

“You’re a worthless human being. 4C – (bottom) 2C and dogs outside,” the note read.

“F*** me, what a ***.”

To make matters worse, the note had a bright pink letterhead that read, “With Compliments.”

Mr Carr posted his response to the letter on a community Facebook page.

“To the d***head who left this note on my wife’s car this morning, you know nothing about dogs, they have kennels both in a barn and outside, not that it has anything to do with you,” he fired back .

‘We also know who you are because the people across the street have cameras. If you’re that concerned about my dogs, go upstairs and pet them on the head.

The Murray Hills man wondered why the note’s author had “sniffed” his property in the first place.

“You must have been caught in the morning writing notes to anyone who has dogs outside. Why were you snooping around at that time of the morning?’
