Djokovic lost his serve in the fifth set to cause the frustration and was cautioned
Loud boos were heard across Center Court for his outburst, although commentator and former British tennis star Andrew Castle understood his frustration.
Speaking of the BBC’s coverage, he said: ‘It’s understandable. He just lost his serve in the fifth set.’
Alcaraz led 5–3 in the third set, forcing Djokovic to take control and serve to stay in the match, which he did.
However, Alcaraz took matters into his own hands and kept his serve to be crowned Wimbledon champion, beating the man who had won the last four in a row.
The 20-year-old impressed throughout and Djokovic was full of praise for his opponent after the match, but was clearly emotional after the heartbreaking defeat.
