Furious My Kitchen Rules star Ash Pollard goes on extraordinary rant as she reveals she was FIRED by her own cleaner after she making one request
My Kitchen Rules star Ash Pollard has revealed she has been fired by her cleaning lady – and it’s not the first time.
In an extraordinary 10-minute rant posted to social media on Wednesday, the 38-year-old mother was furious at not being able to find a cleaner with ‘the same standards’ as hers.
‘Can you be fired by your own employee? Because that’s just me. My cleaner fired me as their client. Do you want to know why? I’ll tell you,” she began.
‘My cleaner said my expectations were too high for the service they had provided over the past two years.’
The Australian radio and TV personality, who rose to fame during the 2015 season of MKR, filmed herself strolling around her Melbourne kitchen as she told the story.
Ash explained that her housekeeper, who she paid “the big bucks” to clean her home in Melbourne, where she lives with her partner and two young children, had failed to clean her shower well enough to prevent mold.
‘This house was brand new when we moved in. No one had lived here because we had just finished building it.
‘They were the only cleaners who cleaned here every two weeks and I just did the maintenance in between.

‘Our shower started to form mold in the joints and in the cork. They were the only ones cleaning it, which means if there’s mold on it at all, they’re not cleaning it properly.”
Before cleaning her new construction home, Ash said she hired the same cleaner to take care of her rent.
“I said, ‘Listen, this isn’t being cleaned properly.’ I had to get the corker back and he did it again so the shower is fresh again.’
“I said, ‘Listen, it’s dirty.'”
The cleaner apologized in a text message to Ash and said they would take full responsibility.

But then they decided they had just had enough.
“Your standards are clearly too high for our service,” they wrote. ‘Good luck in the future.’
‘You know what’s funny? This is the second time this has happened to me,” she revealed.
The Australian TV and radio personality was furious that her cleaner had failed to stop mold from appearing in her shower, saying it must have been their fault because ‘no one else’ had cleaned the shower since her family moved in.
‘Cause I keep thinking it’s them. Maybe it’s just me,” Ash continued.
‘No, I don’t care. What’s wrong with people these days? People have low standards or aren’t willing to put in the damn work.”
She added that the company she used was “expensive” but did not specify what she paid for her fortnightly cleanings.
“First world problems, I know,” Ash said.
But then she continued angrily, “So you think they would get down on their hands and knees and scrub the grout!”
“They didn’t get a grout scrubber. They just went quietly across the floor and mopped themselves out of the house.”
Ash danced around her kitchen mocking how her cleaner mopped her floors and then demonstrated how she expected the task to be done.
Dressed in black workout clothes with her blonde hair pulled back from her face, the self-proclaimed reality TV OG wildly pushed an imaginary mop back and forth.

“Mopping isn’t like that,” she shouted. ‘It is so! You have to break your back and sweat for that.’
Ash Pollard has also appeared on Dancing With The Stars (2015), I’m a Celebrity! Get Me Outta Here (2017), and most recently the second series of The Traitors in 2023 and previously called out TV networks for ‘not wanting to be an influencer’
In her next video, the mother of two explained that she is “very into outsourcing these days” because while she is “good at cleaning [she’d] better not do it.’
‘Because I’d rather do other things. I’d rather not waste my time.’
The Melbourne mum turned to her 126,000 Instagram followers to ask if she was being too ‘anal’ about her expectations, as her friend told her.
“I really respect good cleaners,” she said. ‘I just can’t find one that has the same standard of hygiene as me.’

Ash also complained that her cleaner had not picked up her furniture to dust underneath, but had vacuumed around it, and also not dusted her skirting boards.
“I don’t want a speck of dust anywhere!”
In her subsequent videos, Ash revealed that she bought herself a duster to take on the task and was shocked to discover other areas of her home that had not been properly cleaned.
That included the base of a floor lamp, between the tiles of the back wall of her kitchen, and the tops of her liquor bottles in the back corner of her walk-in closet.
“Yeah, that’s damn good. Add that to my resume. “I’m the new cleaner on the block,” she snorted. “I’m not going to get paid for this, am I?” NO.’
‘What’s a girl to do? What should I do?’
The conclusion she came to was that she should write down a list of everything she wanted done the next time she hired a cleaner.
But in a brilliant marketing move, a Melbourne cleaning company edited all of Ash’s videos and said they were ready.
Ash has two young daughters: four-year-old Clementine and three-year-old Claudette.
She has also appeared on Dancing With The Stars (2015), I’m a Celebrity! Get Me Outta Here (2017), and most recently the second series of The Traitors in 2023, although she has never won a reality TV competition.
In 2022, Ash ‘shamelessly’ made her bid to TV networks to be cast in more shows such as The Amazing Race or Celebrity Apprentice Australia. “I don’t want to be an influencer,” she said.
