The irritable Daniil Medvedev got into an argument with supporters during his US Open win over Christopher O’Connell, appearing to tell them to ‘shut up’ and ask, ‘Are you stupid or something?’
The Russian No. 3 seed defeated O’Connell late Thursday night, in a game that ended after 1 a.m. in New York.
“Can you shut up?” asked the 2021 US Open champion. “Are you stupid or something?”
He appeared to be angry with some fans who walked to their seats as he lined up a serve. One of the female fans blew a kiss to Medvedev in response.
