Furious Dallas Cowboys fans demand Jerry Jones sell the team after Lions humiliation

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been told by angry fans to sell the team following their humiliating 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Jones, a billionaire who bought the team in 1989, celebrated his 82nd birthday Sunday but watched at AT&T Stadium as his Cowboys team was destroyed.

In a game marred by a gruesome injury to Lions star Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit dominated on the road as the Cowboys lost their fourth straight home game.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who signed a four-year contract extension worth more than $240 million this summer, threw two interceptions and zero touchdown passes.

The Cowboys’ chances of reaching the playoffs already look slim and Sunday’s one-sided loss was the final straw for many fans.

One posted: “Cowboys just need to clean house, starting with Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones selling the team.”

Another commented, “Jerry Jones thought this team would be good and win a Super Bowl. Man, sell the team.”

A third posted: “It’s rare in the NFL to lose so badly that you pull starters early in the 4th quarter. Jerry Jones needs to sell the Cowboys. He’s a very bad owner.’

‘Dak pulled with 13 minutes to play. Put him back there and let him earn that damn salary. Jerry Jones please sell this team, you suck as an NFL owner, fans need to stop paying for tickets,” one fan added.

“I wish with everything in me that Jerry Jones would see the Dallas Cowboys with someone who REALLY knows how to make football decisions. Dak did NOTHING to earn the record money, and McCarthy should have been fired 2 seasons ago!,” wrote another.

After the match, Jones admitted his team’s performance was “very concerning” and “very humiliating.” He also called it “a shocker.”

Jared Goff passed for 315 yards and three touchdowns, but Detroit lost top defensive player Hutchinson.

Hutchinson suffered a serious left leg injury in the third quarter when he sacked Prescott and was carted off the field.

David Montgomery rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions, who have won three in a row.

Prescott passed for 178 yards and was intercepted twice, both by Brian Branch, as the Cowboys fell to 0-3 in home games. Cooper Rush replaced Prescott and went 8-for-11 for 46 yards and an interception.

CeeDee Lamb had seven catches for 89 yards for Dallas.

Regarding Dallas’ struggles on FOX, Tom Brady said, “Dallas just struggles the same way it struggles in so many of these games.

“They can’t handle it, they’re struggling to be physical, Dak is frustrated, too many turnovers, just not good enough.”
