Funny op shop fails: Op shoppers confused by suspicious buy in the kitchen section

To shoppers confused by suspicious purchase in kitchen area before realizing what it really is: ‘That’s NOT coming home with me’

  • A woman was shocked to find a feminine hygiene item containing cooking utensils
  • The device was mistaken for a funnel at a local Australian store

A woman was casually browsing the kitchenware section of her local store when she found a suspicious item.

A silicone “funnel” was found lurking next to the plates, casserole dishes, and mugs for just $1.99.

The Australian woman was shocked to finally realize what the item is used for and that it has nothing to do with food preparation.

Usually priced between $20 and $35, the item turned out to be a female pee device (colloquially called a “Shewee”) that was mistaken for a cake decorator.

Women typically use the device while camping or if a medical condition makes it difficult to use the bathroom while sitting or squatting.

Many were pleasantly surprised to see the handy gadget in the wild and shared positive experiences of using the feminine hygiene product.

“They are very helpful in many situations,” said an old lady. β€œI hurt my hip and had trouble sitting [toilet]so I have one of those.’

β€œI had one for camping, very useful in the woods. You don’t have to constantly look around for creepy critters trying to attack you while you crouch.’

‘So convenient, and a great price. But it takes some training to be able to urinate standing up after decades of sitting.’

One mother even admitted to using them on her child.

“They sell these for toddlers for when you’re out and about and they have nowhere to go!” she revealed. “I just bought one for my 18-month-old.”

But some were not so convinced of the usefulness of the product.

β€œI tried one once and my pants got wet,” one woman wrote. “It was so embarrassing!”

β€œThe flood is real. I took a camping – it was a bust. That hole at the bottom isn’t big enough. I feel like a plain old funnel would have been better.”

β€œI got one for when I went backpacking. I used it a few times, but couldn’t take it anymore after that, so I got rid of it.”

Others use the feminine hygiene item for other purposes.

‘I think it’s a great funnel! I love it because it’s so flexible – in fact, I went out and bought a third for fuel. They are easy to store and don’t take up much space.’

“I have one that we put gravy in, so convenient to pour over the mashed potatoes.”

“My kid just uses one as a bath toy – it’s great for washing his head.”
