LIV Golf stars fear they will be excluded from future plans for Netflix’s ‘Full Swing’ documentary amid claims PGA Tour bosses gave streaming giants an ultimatum to snub Saudi’s rogue tour Arabia.
The early popularity of the show is believed by many to be the result of conflict between PGA Tour and LIV golfers who left the main competition to part ways, causing chaos in the golf world.
The Telegraph reports that ‘Full Swing’ has been a huge success and it turned out to be the second most popular show on Netflix during its first week, but LIV confirmed that the producers have not approached them with a view to attending any upcoming events.
Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Ian Poulter are among the golfers who switched allegiance from the PGA Tour to the Saudi-funded LIV circuit, and their stories feature prominently in the eight-episode series.
But LIV claims that Netflix has not requested to attend any of this year’s tournaments, which will kick off at the Mayakoba resort on Friday, despite being at the opening event of the 2022 season.

Rory McIlroy also makes an appearance on the show, which could be renewed for a second season.
The splinter group said they would accommodate the transmitter if they wanted access.
The PGA Tour told the Telegraph that a second series has not yet been “green-lit”, and Netflix did not add further information when asked.
Netflix cameras were following American golfer Max Homa at the Phoenix Open in Arizona earlier this month, as pointed out by some of the players.
A source claimed the PGA Tour issued the streaming platform an ‘ultimatum’ about a potential sequel, which could limit LIV’s involvement to the big leagues, or cause them to be ignored entirely.
A golfer at the Phoenix Open reportedly said, “It looks like only Tour players will get airtime now.”
‘Full Swing’ arrived on Netflix on February 15 and is intended to offer a documentary-style series following the sport of golf, in the same way that ‘Drive To Survive’ showcased the world of Formula One.
While it can be difficult to quantify the success of a broadcast show, the first seven days have shown that there could be demand for more ‘Full Swing’ in the future.
