Fishing is a big part of Fields of MistriaWhether you’re just trying to fulfill a townsman’s request or you’re trying to finish the museum, finding the fish you need can be frustrating, so we’ve put together everything you need to know about successful fishing in one guide.

Below we explain how to find fish of a certain size and give a complete overview of all the fish in the game.

Size of the shadow of fish in the fields of Mistria

Each fish has a different size, which makes it easier to hunt. There are small, medium, large and giant fish, all of which have different shadow sizes, as shown below.

Sometimes it can be difficult to tell the difference between small and medium and medium and large, but the more you fish the better you will get at it.

If you are hunting for a specific fish, for example a rare giant fish, go away from the map and come back to it to refresh the spawns until you see the correct shadow size.

Full Fish List in Fields of Mistria

While the in-game almanac states that there are 111 fish, in reality there are only 109. Two of the entries in the almanac concern fishing for trash (wood and fiber).

There are also four legendary fish (Cherry Fish, Leaf Fish, Lightning Fish, and Snow Fish), which you can only catch after reaching fishing level 30 and activating the “Legendary” skill. You will get a notification in the game that these fish are nearby when they spawn, so keep your fishing rod handy.

For the Lightning Fish and the Snow Fish, some players have reported having more luck finding these fish specifically during storms and blizzards. However, since the in-game descriptions only mention “rainy” and “snowy” days, we’ll stick with that.
