Fulham ‘offer Willian a new one-year deal with extension option after the end of next season’

Fulham ‘offer Willian a new one-year deal – including an extension option after the end of next season’ – as a reward for the 34-year-old’s prolific first campaign at Craven Cottage

  • Willian helped newly promoted Fulham to a top half in the league last season
  • The West London club have rewarded the Brazilian star with a new contract offer
  • It is clear that the terms of the contract are similar to Willian’s last season

Fulham have reportedly offered Willian a new one-year contract at Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers decided to reward the 34-year-old Brazilian with a new contract after his impressive debut campaign helped Marco Silva’s side finish a top half in last season’s Premier League.

Willian’s new deal will reportedly include an option to extend for another year, as long as both parties agree to the clause.

The winger signed a one-year contract with Fulham last summer and has since entered the free agency market ahead of next season.

It’s clear that Willian is taking some time to think about his future while on vacation.

According to The athleticFulham’s offer to Willian is similar to the contract he had at Craven Cottage last season, worth more than £50,000 a week. Silva insisted last month that keeping Willian was “a priority.”

Willian and his family enjoy living in west London, home to the Brazilian during his spells at both Chelsea and Fulham, and it is likely that the veteran will choose to stay with the Premier League club next season.

The winger scored five goals and six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions last season, helping the Cottagers reach the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Willian was sent off during Fulham’s quarter-final defeat, along with his manager Silva and star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who was given an eight-match ban for shoving referee Chris Kavanagh.
