A fugitive mother of three who fled to Britain is accused of shooting two of her children in the head after drugging them with sleep medication, autopsy records show.
Kimberlee Singler, 35, is extradited from London after allegedly killing her two children Elianna “Ellie” Wentz, 9, and Aden Wentz, 7.
Autopsy reports released last week by the El Paso County coroner’s office show that both children suffered gunshot wounds and lacerations to their necks before their deaths.
Potentially toxic levels of doxylamine – a drug commonly found in sleep aids and allergy medications – were detected in the blood of Ellie and her brother Aden.
Singler was arrested at a London hotel 11 days after her children were found dead at a property in Colorado. Her ex-husband Kevin Wentz identified the bodies, while Singler went on the run for two weeks, sparking an international manhunt.

Nine-year-old Ellie died of a gunshot wound to the head and lacerations to her neck, according to an autopsy report written by forensic pathologist Dr. Megan Kliesner.
Aden died of a gunshot wound and also suffered neck wounds. High concentrations of doxylamine were found in both children.
“An autopsy and investigation indicate that these injuries were sustained as a result of the intentional actions of another person,” said the report obtained by BBC is reading.
Singer also allegedly injured herself and her 11-year-old daughter, who has not yet been identified, before calling 911 in the early morning of December 19 and reporting the attack as a burglary.
Police responded to an apartment complex and found her and her surviving 11-year-old daughter lying next to the dead bodies of her other daughter and son.
Colorado Springs Police Department investigators later determined the burglary report was unsubstantiated The same day, a judge ordered police to locate the children after failing to deliver them to their father.
Court records show that Singler, who was representing himself as head of a hearing scheduled for Dec. 20, went to a public library and filed a motion requesting that the hearing be continued that day.
In the motion, she states that an unknown person broke into her home on December 18 and attacked her and three children.
She claimed she was weak, in a lot of pain and was unable to call 911 until midnight on December 19.
Detectives, who wanted her for alleged murder, attempted murder and child abuse, said she was last seen on December 23 and believed she had fled the state.

Wentz alleged that Singler made allegations of both domestic violence and child abuse against him, which a Larimer County court found unfounded, deeming Wentz not a threat to the children.
Singler was involved in a lengthy custody battle with her ex-husband Wentz, who issued a press release after the alleged murders, revealing the names of his two deceased children.
He claimed the incident was related to his divorce from Singler, which dates back to September 2018.
Wentz said Singler made allegations of both domestic violence and child abuse against him, which a Larimer County court found unfounded, ruling Wentz as no threat to the children.
However, the tense battle continued well into 2023, when Singler obtained a temporary protective order against Wentz in El Paso County after she claimed he brandished a knife at her.
Wentz denied the accusation, but the order remained in effect until Jan. 24 and an appeal hearing was scheduled.
Singler filed another emergency motion in district court on Nov. 17 to attempt to limit Wentz’s parenting time based on the same allegations, but the court vacated the order after finding there was no imminent threat.
The Larimer County Court even ordered Singler to pay Wentz’s legal bills and give him time to make up what he lost due to the order.
Singler did not comply with these guidelines and did not bring the children to Wentz on the scheduled exchange date of Dec. 16, Wentz said.
Both he and his legal representatives tried to contact his ex-wife but received no response.
Wentz was granted an emergency motion for law enforcement assistance on December 18 to enforce parenting time and scheduled a status conference for two days later, ordering Singler to appear with the children.
But by December 19, two of the three children were dead. He said he has fully cooperated with the police investigation into the killings.
Colorado Springs police arrived on scene and spoke with Wentz, who denied all allegations
A spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Police Department said at the time that the 11-year-old was recovering from her injuries and receiving treatment. It is not known where she is being cared for and by whom
