A Connecticut man accused of murdering and dismembering his 11-month-old daughter has finally been arrested after spending two weeks on the run.
Christopher Francisquini, 31, was taken into custody at a Waterbury bus stop Friday afternoon after a citizen recognized him from news coverage and called authorities.
Francisquini is accused of killing his young daughter, Camilla, on November 18 at their Naugatuck home.
He was charged with murder in special circumstances and risk of injury to a minor, and was set on $5 million bail.
Francisquini has a lengthy rap sheet, with convictions for assault, carjacking and other crimes to his name. He was on probation on a 2012 assault charge when he allegedly murdered his daughter and cut his GPS anklet before fleeing, according to the court. New York Daily News.

After the murder, investigators say he got into a fight with his mother, who didn’t know Camila was dead, then destroyed her cell phone, clipped her probation GPS tracker from her ankle and then fled in a 2006 Chevy Impala.
Later, a family member found Camila’s body. It was ruled that her death was caused by neck compressions and stab wounds.
The car Francisquini fled in was found abandoned on Interstate 91.

A reward for information leading to his capture was originally set at $10,000, but was later increased to $25,000 just before his capture.
Camilla would have turned one on Saturday. Her body was discovered by relatives.

Police said the report of the Francisquini sighting was made through the department’s anonymous tip hotline.
“Francisquini’s capture is a clear example of what can be accomplished when community members work with law enforcement to get dangerous people off the street,” the Naugatuck Police Department said in a statement.
“Within 28 hours of asking for the public’s help, he was taken into custody without incident and will now face justice.”
Camilla would have turned one on Saturday.
