Fugitive brother of Socceroos star Garang Kuol accuses police detective of robbing him of $120,000

Socceroos star Garang Kuol’s fugitive brother and player manager has accused police of robbing him while he was on the run from the law.

Kuol Mawien Kuol remains at large after failing to appear in court in Victoria on July 22 and heading to New South Wales to manage his little brother, who now plays for Scottish team Hearts after leaving on loan there in January had come from Newcastle United.

Kuol was issued an arrest warrant that month after skipping bail on charges of ripping off elderly Australians in an alleged banking scam.

Kuol Mawien Kuol claims police robbed him of $120,000 – nearly the same amount he allegedly stole from bank customers

On Wednesday night, the rogue player’s agent took to social media to taunt a Victoria Police detective tasked with bringing him in on multiple fraud and drug charges.

The former bank employee had previously faced court charges of stealing more than $121,000 from customers of the National Australia Bank where he used to work in the country of Victoria.

The Shepparton News reported that the majority of customers affected by the alleged thefts from Kuol were elderly, including one 95-year-old and one 76-year-old.

In a slap to the face of his alleged victims, Kuol, who uses the Twitter handle @kuoloneking, took to the platform to accuse a detective of stealing $120,000 from him.

$120k cash stolen, gone! No reports on any of this,” he stated in the now-deleted tweet.

Daily Mail Australia chose not to name the Victoria Police detective whose emails urging the fugitive to surrender were shared by Kuol on social media.

The detective had tried to warn Kuol that another press release about his wanted status would be sent to the national media.

“Why do I need to know this unless my attorney and @vicpoliceforce were all colluding for a cover?” Kuol tweeted.

In text that Kuol pasted on a screenshot of another email, the 25-year-old further accused the detective of smearing his name in “false” media articles.

Victoria Police have issued several wanted posters featuring Kuol’s face since he failed to show up to court last year.

A police source told Daily Mail Australia that detectives now believe Kuol is back in Melbourne after he appeared on social media in December with his other famous brother Alou Kuol at a posh party aboard a yacht in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

The pair were featured on Alou’s Instagram page showing them enjoying a pleasant sunset on the water.

Kuol was seen wearing a large gold-colored watch, with a gold-trimmed throne depicted close behind him.

Kuol says he takes care of the ‘football affairs’ of both Garang and Alou, who signed a five-year contract with the German VfB Stuttgart last year.

Garang shot to instant fame around the world in December when he almost became a Socceroo hero against Argentina in the World Cup.

Koul claims he helped broker a $500,000 Premier League deal for Garang while still on the run from Australian authorities.

Just days after making his international debut for the Socceroos, Garang secured a lucrative transfer to Newcastle United.

Last month he scored his first goal for Hearts.

Daily Mail Australia revealed in December that Kuol had traveled to Sydney from Melbourne, where he soon ran into trouble.

He was arrested in Sydney two days after he fled after harassing behavior at a casino.

Police sources have confirmed that the Footscray man, from western Melbourne, appeared at NSW’s Downing Center Local Court on July 28 where he was found guilty of four charges, including resisting arrest and handling stolen property.

In a bungle, Kuol was released in NSW and has not been seen by authorities since.

Kuol had been released back into the community in Victoria over charges of $20,000 bail fraud, despite police objections.

He faced Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in June last year after police charged him with eight bail offenses and applied for his bail to be revoked.

Detective Senior Constable Daniel Chapman of the Police Gang Crime Squad’s Echo Taskforce told the court that Kuol was out on bail on $20,000 bail when he allegedly had another man sign for him seven times at the police station.

Kuol also allegedly tried to sell 13 grams of cocaine to an undercover cop and used counterfeit notes to buy a PlayStation 5 from a Melbourne man who advertised online.

The alleged fraudster was also accused of using his football star brother Alou Kuol’s driver’s license when he was pulled over by police while he himself did not have one.

It is not suggested that Alou authorized any alleged use by Kuol of his license.

Police further allege that Kuol used someone else’s credit card to purchase round-trip airfare to the United States.

Magistrate David Faram granted Kuol bail despite his horrific history of disobeying court orders.

Mr Faram also varied Kuol’s bail terms from daily reporting to just three days a week – a requirement he was quick to ignore.
