Frustrated AJ Brown aims dig at Eagles teammate Jalen Hurts after narrow win over Panthers
AJ Brown expressed his frustration with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts after his narrow escape against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Philadelphia is on a roll and has nine wins to its name, the last of which was a 22-16 victory over the visiting Panthers.
Although the all-important victory came after four quarters, the wide receiver was less than happy with his lack of involvement in the effort.
After the game, Brown was asked what part of the offense could use improvement.
Without looking at the reporter, Brown said, “Over,” and nodded his head when the reporter clarified.
What upset Brown was that Hurts attempted only 21 passes for Philadelphia in the game. He would complete 14 of his attempts for 108 yards and two touchdowns.

Brown was upset because Hurt found him for only four of his 21 passes on Sunday
Of those passes, Brown was targeted on four, catching them all for 43 yards. Although they topped the team in receiving yards, the scoring opportunities went to teammates DeVonta Smith and Grant Calcaterra.
Additionally, Smith was targeted more than Brown, with Hurts throwing six passes to the fourth-year receiver.
So far this season, Brown has caught 48 passes on 66 targets for 836 yards and four touchdowns.
Last season he finished with 106 receptions on 158 targets for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. The decline in Browns numbers could also be influenced by the fewer number of games he played.
In 2023 he played in 17 games. This year, Brown has suited up for 10 games, with four remaining in the regular season.
Nevertheless, the Eagles secured the win, moving to 11–2 and remaining atop the NFC East. They will be in the City of Brotherly Love on December 15 to host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
