‘From Whence Life Flows’ walkthrough and life source locations in FF7 Rebirth

‘From where life flows’ is a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth side quest that becomes available after completing the story section Cosmo Canyon. It’s your job to help Bugenhagen investigate the sources of life in the area.

Completing ‘From When Life Flows’ will net you the usual rewards you’d expect from a side quest at this point: EXP, along with affection for a particular character, in this case Red XIII. You also get a skill point book for Cait Sith for some reason.

There are five Lifespring research locations that you need to go to with Bugenhagen, and he gives you a janky little map for each. Throw away his map and just go to the locations we indicate to save you grief. Keep in mind that you’ll have to fight bad guys before entering some of the life wells. If you fail to protect all the doors from the attacking enemies, you won’t get 100% completion for the quest, and you won’t get as much affection with Red XIII.

Below we list the locations of all five life sources as part of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth‘From where life flows’ side quest.

Lifespring Survey Station No. 1 location

This is located just south of the actual Cosmo Canyon town on the bottom level.

Location Lifespring Survey Station No. 2

This one is actually quite close to one of Cosmo Canyon’s protorelian sites. Make sure you follow the path on the northern edge of the ruins-covered cliff to get here.

Location Lifespring Survey Station No. 3

This life source is located in a cave beneath some ruins. You should be able to access it by going down the edge of the cliff north of the second life source research station and going straight.

This is also visible from the regular ground level of the center of Cosmo Canyon.

This life source is the only one that is a bit difficult to reach. You’ll want to climb the mountain using the path west of the life source until you reach Gliding Range #6 (marked with a star and arrow on our map above). From here, jump to the cliff opposite and follow the path until you see Gliding Range #7. Slide straight again towards the cliff. After landing, turn right and go up the stairs. Take Gliding Range #13 to cross straight ahead, then use Gliding Range #14 to jump forward again. After landing, you should be able to take the dirt path forward until you reach the life source.
