Due to dietary restrictions, Jessica lost many of her teeth.

'I cannot consume dairy, which has caused a deficiency of calcium and B12 in my body. I also avoid poultry, another source of B12,” she said.

'I have struggled with a severe vitamin D deficiency, which affects calcium absorption. To compensate, I now take a multitude of vitamins.

'Although health issues played a role, there were other factors that led to my tooth loss but I am not at liberty to discuss these due to safety concerns.'

Before opting for dentures, she tried to get dental implants, but her body reacted negatively to the procedure and the pain was unbearable.

In addition to her health problems, Jessica struggles with a temporomandibular joint disorder, which made the decision to remove her teeth a painful necessity.

In 2017, while living in Pennsylvania and emerging from an abusive marriage, Jessica took the courageous step of having most of her teeth extracted.

“I was completely submerged and all but six of my lower teeth were extracted,” she recalls.

“At the time, I called myself a piranha and begged for temporary dentures, but they refused, emphasizing the importance of healing first.”

The next six months were difficult but necessary for Jessica as she embarked on a journey to boost her confidence and find self-love.

“Over the next six months, I went from being dissatisfied with my appearance to accepting that if someone couldn't love me at my worst, they didn't deserve me at my best,” she described.

Jessica's journey took a unique turn when she discovered TikTok. She began documenting her experiences with dentures and sharing her story with the world.

She quickly gained attention for her wit and humor, which earned her the title of “denture queen.”

Jessica talked about her social media journey and how she reached out to different groups of people.

“I was spitting my teeth out from day one on TikTok, but initially I did it to help other domestic violence survivors,” she said.

'Shortly after, I went viral in 2021 with a video about 'the last piece of chicken on earth'. From then on, I embraced the name “the prosthetic queen” and started using humor in my videos to make people laugh.

“My goal was to normalize the experience with dentures, making it less weird and more uplifting through laughter.”

Through her comedic approach, Jessica created a space where people dealing with dentures could find comfort and camaraderie. Her videos provided a sense of community and understanding.

Jessica has always loved traveling and her free-spirited nature has helped her deepen her connection with her followers and motivate others.

'Staying in one place is difficult for me. Traveling has made me realize that we often focus on the negative sides of people, when we should be celebrating their positive sides. Why fixate on cosmetics, such as teeth or dentures, when we can experience the beauty of life and strengthen each other along the way?' she said.

While Jessica's social media journey has been uplifting and inspiring, it has also highlighted the misconceptions and judgments society often has about people with dentures.

She added: 'I feel like people tend to react negatively or assume that tooth loss is solely due to drug use.

“However, it can be the result of several factors, including alcohol, psychiatric medications, dry mouth, acid reflux, pregnancy, chemotherapy, vitamin deficiencies, and even abusive situations.” This stigma must be challenged and removed.”

She added, “Always remember that you are beautiful no matter what. Teeth do not define who we are. It's who we are inside that really matters. The opinions of others are just opinions that should have no place in your life.

'The right people will love you for who you are. Stay real, stay true and always be yourself, no matter what anyone says!'
