Frightening brawl breaks out at York Hall with fans throwing chairs, hoarding and punches

A terrifying brawl breaks out after Ellis Zorro beats Tyson Fury’s cousin Hosea Burton with fans throwing chairs, billboards and punches… while one man is knocked unconscious and others run screaming for the exit

Ellis Zorro knocked out Tyson Fury’s cousin Hosea Burton at York Hall on Friday night, but it was what happened next that made headlines.

Zorro knocked out Burton in the seventh round with a heavy right hand to claim the vacant WBO European Cruiserweight title at the London venue.

However, it wasn’t Zorro’s knockout that caught everyone’s attention – it was the wild brawl that erupted in the crowd shortly after the referee called off the bout.

Footage circulated on social media of a packed ring with team members leaning against the ropes and watching as fans threw chairs and fists at each other.

People were seen screaming and running for the exit as the mass brawl broke out – with fans throwing chairs, billboards, drinks and punches at each other.

A chair thrown from close to the ring hit a man on the side of the head, causing him to fall to the floor in a crumbling heap.

The man appeared to have been knocked unconscious and immediately received help from a member of staff nearby.

A later video showed the man getting back to his feet with blood streaming down his face, looking somewhat confused at what had happened.

Others were seen grabbing the hoarding and throwing it into the crowd before getting into fistfights with those around them.

Stewards, filmed on the footage by another audience member sitting in the gallery, attempted to stop the brawl breaking out but were unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, players like Ohara Davies had to be held back by the likes of Lee Eaton and Sam Jones awaiting the result between Dickens and Ramos.

It remains to be seen what annoyed Davies, but he was physically restrained by those around him.

Boxing fans were quick to condemn the behavior on social media. One Twitter user wrote, “Pretty much why I’m not taking my son to these events.”

Another added: ‘Boxing events are a joke these days, full of youngsters who have no knowledge of the sport. The last two fights I’ve been to I haven’t enjoyed the atmosphere.’
