Friends again? Kylian Mbappé’s reaction to Neymar’s scandalous free-kick in PSG warm-up goes viral after recent reports that he doesn’t want the Brazilian in the squad… but they can’t stop PSG from losing more points against Reims
Paris Saint-Germain stars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe appear to be back on good terms after the French striker offered his teammate a surprise reaction following a free kick he scored in warm-up.
After an outrageous strike from the Brazilian in the top corner, Mbappe cast an emphatic look of appreciation that has been widely shared on social media.
It will come as a relief to PSG fans following reports last September that the pair were feuding, which came after Neymar was “shocked” by the influence his younger teammate had.
Kylian Mbappé gave Neymar a grateful look on Sunday before his game with Reims
The pair were then seen celebrating together as Neymar scored the first goal of the game.
Mbappé “didn’t want Neymar in the team” at the time following a dispute over a penalty kick, but their relationship seems to have improved after they were also seen celebrating the Frenchman’s goal together against Reims on Sunday.
Fans enjoyed the 23-year-old’s reaction to Neymar’s impressive warm-up effort, with one quipping that everyone needs “someone to look at you the way Mbappe looked at Neymar after that free kick.”
Others said it was an example of ‘class recognition class’, noting that the younger star could learn ‘how to take free kicks from Neymar and Messi’.
Paris Saint-Germain eventually equalized 1-1 after a late goal from Arsenal’s loan Folarin Balogun
The French superstar’s reaction to Neymar in the warm-up was widely shared on social media.
Despite cordial relations between two of the club’s key forwards prior to the game, PSG continued to struggle in Ligue 1 in their last match as Reims drew 1-1 after a stoppage-time draw on loan from Arsenal, Folarin Balogun.
Christophe Galtier’s side now sit just three points clear at the top of the league, with Lens and Marseille breathing down each other’s necks at the halfway point of the season.
They have had better luck recently in the French Cup, where Mbappe scored five in the last round as PSG beat sixth division Pays de Cassel 7-0.
