A fireworks display at an LA minor league baseball game went spectacularly wrong on Friday night as footage showed pryotechnics being launched straight into the fleeing crowd.

Frenzied fans watching the Rocket City Trash Pandas, the affiliate team of the Los Angeles Angels based in Madison, Alabama, were left stunned as fireworks started erupting in their direction after the game.

Professional fireworks service Pyro Shows of Alabama – the company hired for the evening – said it ‘discovered that a particular product had been incorrectly inserted and secured into its holder.’

Clips from the game on Friday night show supporters fleeing the grassy banks as sparks and spray dramatically shoot towards them amid the chaos.

The Pandas had beaten the Tennesse Smokies 4-1 before the frenzy unfolded.

‘No fans were harmed, and the fireworks vendor adamantly expressed that this has never happened before in over 40 years of their experience,’ the Trash Pandas said in a statement.

One person, however, was admitted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a statement from Madison Fire & Rescue Chief David Bailey shared with Al.com

Bailey described the wound as a ‘slight leg injury,’ adding that the injured person was a stadium employee working in the parking lot.

The Trash Pandas later released a statement claiming no fans were harmed but one stadium employee was struck in the leg in a parking lot

‘Madison Fire & Rescue did respond one paramedic unit and one engine company but did not need to provide patient care,’ Bailey said in the statement.

The fireworks show started right after the Trash Pandas win and behind the center of Toyota Field, home of the minor league team.

One of the misaimed crackers went off over the right field corner towards a crowd of families with children.

Spectators were also recorded by others running away from fireworks in one section of the field. One fan can be heard yelling in excitement: ‘I was the one recording that! Look a little one!’ as a another bottle rocket goes off in his direction.

Another person said: ‘oh my god’ while witnessing the incident from another angle.

Fans sitting on a mound by the stands panicked and ran for their lives after a bottle rocket came very close to them

The Trash Pandas later said that fireworks at the venue are ‘always supervised by the Madison Fire and Rescue Departments.’

‘All parties are taking extreme precautions to ensure that this does not happen again.’

Pyro Shows of Alabama, the fireworks service hired for the occasion, added that it is ‘eliminating’ the device from future shows until it has been ‘fully updated to assure providing safe shows for our customers.’

The Trash Pandas have regularly held fireworks throughout the season, making it a tradition to put them on display after every Friday home game.
