‘Frequent flyer’ SLAMS ‘entitled’ plane passenger who demanded she switch to his middle seat on 11-HOUR flight so he could sit next to his wife
A frequent flier has revealed that she refused to swap her window seat with an “entitled” passenger who wanted to sit next to his wife.
The unnamed woman shared on Reddit how she refused to move to a middle seat on an 11-hour flight from New York to Cairo, Egypt, so that the man sitting next to her could sit next to his wife.
Her admission reignited a heated conversation about airline etiquette just days after a woman revealed she refused to give up her seat so a 10-year-old boy could sit next to his family.
The anonymous woman shared her story on the social media platform as a way of ranting about the man under a thread titled, “Titled Peopleprompting others on the internet to condemn the man for asking someone else to switch to a lower quality chair so he could be happy.

The message read: “This was a while ago, but an excellent example of pure justice. Flight from NY to Cairo, the seat configuration consisted of three rows of seats. Two windows and aisles on each side with four or five middle seats in the center.
‘I had a window above a grand piano. I chose the chair many months in advance with sleep in mind; Although I travel often, I’m not going to pretend to fly to Egypt often, so this vacation was very planned.
“I was sitting in my seat when my roommate came up to him and asked if I would switch places with his wife so they could sit together.
‘It looked like they were with a group of travelers of a similar age; based on rumours, it seemed to me that it might be some kind of group tour (knowing the industry and that the organizers might have been negligent in allocating seats, I was definitely willing to consider a swap if the seat was similar).’
However, when she questioned whether the chair was up to her standards, the man revealed that his wife’s chair was in the middle of a row.
She refused to move and apologized to the man, adding that she would stay in her assigned seat.
The woman added: “Instead of exchanging with a person in the middle seat – who I’m sure would have liked to have taken an aisle – so that he could sit next to his wife, he sat down in his seat and started arguing with me. ‘
She noted that the man chided her for refusing to trade, adding that she wouldn’t have a “view” from where she was sitting, so it’s better if she moved.

She added: “I said I ‘have a husband’, and if my husband and I were traveling together, not only would I make sure our seats were allocated together, but if they weren’t I would my aisle and sit in the middle with my husband.’
The man then kept quiet for the rest of the trip, “pretending to ignore her existence.”

One person said, “The ‘I’m trying a free upgrade’ type is a regular occurrence on those flights. Never say yes, you invested time to get the seat (which he didn’t) and probably money too (those middle seats are hard to sell and often cheaper)

Another user wrote: “He didn’t want to switch with another middle seat because he wanted to upgrade his wife’s seat by letting you take a worse seat. It was never about wanting to sit next to his wife. ‘
“My husband and I flew back from our honeymoon, with me in the front of the plane and him in the back. It never occurred to us to ask anyone to switch seats,” one added.
Her admission comes just two weeks after a passenger was praised online for refusing to give up her first class seat to a woman who wanted to sit closer to her teen.
Dr. Sabra, a TikTok creator and pharmacist, gained nearly 10 million views after sharing her elated reaction to the confrontation.
The short clip was captioned, “POV: Flight Agent Asks Me To Give Up My 1A Seat So A Kid Can Sit With His Family,” she was seen grinning from ear to ear after denying the mother.
The denial comes months after a man sparked a furious debate when he refused to give up his first-class seat for his boss, despite using his own credit card points to do so.
In the past, Jaci Stephen of DailyMail.com even gave her opinion, confessing that she “absolutely refuses” to change seats, no matter how angry the transfer passenger may get.
