A French building materials company has been fined £690 million for supporting Isis and the Al-Nusra Front.
Lafarge, part of the world’s largest cement maker Holcim, pleaded guilty to “providing material support and resources” to the jihadist terror groups.
The company paid Isis and ANF for permission to run a cement factory in Syria from 2013 to 2014.

A US court heard how the company funneled more than £5 million in “illegal payments” to two of the world’s most notorious terrorist groups.
The payments came at a time when the organizations in Syria were “ill-treating innocent civilians.”
US Attorney Breon Peace for New York’s Eastern District said, “Lafarge has made the unthinkable choice to put money into the hands of Isis, one of the world’s most barbaric terrorist organizations.”
Lafarge declined to comment.
