French backpacker desperate for a place to stay in Byron Bay is flooded with offers from swooning women after posting photos of himself on Facebook

A French tourist looking for a place to stay in tourist hotspot Byron Bay set locals’ hearts racing with his charming photos.

Thibault Lanier, 27, introduced himself to the city Tuesday at the local community board meeting, where he asked if there were any shared rooms available in the area.

However, he probably got more than he bargained for, as dozens of women in love offered him a place to sleep.

Locals echoed Mr Lanier’s comments (above) in praising his good looks on Wednesday

‘To introduce myself, I am Thibault, 27 years old, French, just arrived in Australia a week ago. It was my dream since I was a little boy,” Mr. Lanier began the post.

‘I am looking for a share house in the Byron Bay area.

‘I am initially a carpenter, my main occupation is woodworking, but I can also work with anything.’

Mr. Lanier then explained his interests alongside three photos of the outdoorsman in nature.

“As an outdoor sports enthusiast, I always enjoy running, diving, hiking and I am a big fan of water sports (surfing, sailing…),” he wrote.

‘My friends describe me as an energetic person, enthusiastic, always willing to share good moments and discover new things. I’m super respectful and relaxed.

‘I am available to meet you and visit your home as I am already in Byron.

‘Hope to see you soon.’

Commenters (like the one above) joked about rushing to find room for Mr. Lanier and applauded his charming photos

Byron locals were quick to fill Mr. Lanier’s comments with rave reviews of his photos and accommodation offerings.

“I think I just heard the collective skip of a heartbeat from countless women in the Shire. I’m sure you’ll be welcomed here with open arms, buddy,” one person wrote.

‘You look nice, good luck! I think you’re going to get a few calls from people who didn’t realize they needed a roommate until now,” said another.

Some men joined in, joking about using Mr. Lanier’s photos in dating profiles after the positive response.

“Can I copy and paste your profile picture and say it’s mine,” someone responded.

Mr Lanier (above) said he is already a fan of Byron Bay and wrote that the generous offers ‘warmed my heart’

“Local single men don’t have a chance anymore,” said another.

Mr. Lanier later responded to the comments in good humor, writing that the generous offers “warmed my heart.”

“Haha thank you so much for your messages and for your help,” he wrote.

‘I hope I find it soon. I already love Byron people.”
