Wild moment man brings Melbourne to a standstill by climbing up a skyscraper with NO harness

A harness-less daredevil has been filmed climbing a 60-storey skyscraper in Melbourne’s CBD.

Dozens of tradies and commuters gathered at the foot of the building on the corner of Elizabeth and A’Beckett Streets in the city’s center to watch the man climb the building without safety equipment shortly after 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to initial reports, he was wearing a backpack with possibly a parachute in it.

Police, fire brigade and ambulance personnel are on site.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said: ‘It is believed a man climbed a building without safety equipment on A’Beckett Street at around 7.30am.

“Police located the 29-year-old Newry man at the top of the building at around 8.20am and escorted him down safely.”

He is currently assisting the police with their investigation.

Police also spoke to a second man who was filming the incident with a drone.

It is expected that he will be interviewed at a later date.

No one was injured during the incident.
