Free climbers scale to the very peak of Trump’s 927ft tall 40 Wall Street building in stomach-churning clip

A group of free climbers shared the shocking moment they scaled all 927 feet of Donald Trump’s 40 Wall Street building – one of New York’s tallest skyscrapers.

The trio including the YouTuber Llama dies climbing to the Manhattan location were surprised by how easily they were able to climb to the roof of the tower, before attempting an extremely precarious climb to the top of the pinnacle.

Also known as the Trump Building, but not to be confused with Trump Tower, 40 Wall Street is a totemic office space with current occupants including the Girl Scouts of Greater New York, Noble Capital and Telstra.

Once the daredevils had scaled the 72 floors, they were amazed that they could simply climb from one roof to the top of a spiral staircase onto the iconic green roof – made of lead-coated copper.

“It’s actually crazy that hatch is open,” said one before stepping out into the open air, “be careful coming out here it’s a little sketchy.”

The three – who wore masks to hide their identities – emerged onto a section of roof that was barely a foot wide halfway to the top of the building.

From theirs they had an uninterrupted view of the New York skyline, with one saying: ‘Oh my God, holy ***, before their stunt appeared to be interrupted by a helicopter overhead.

However, after they appeared to have evaded detection, the filmer – for footage uploaded on August 20 – decided to go even further.

“I think it’s time to go up,” he said before climbing a ladder to the top of the skyscraper after his friend encouraged him to “be safe.”

“It’s a lot smaller up here than I thought,” added the climber.

Many commentators said they couldn’t watch him reach the top, only with aerials to climb after he passed the bottom of the ladder.

“Okay, let’s go down,” he said before filming the anxiety-inducing descent.

As they went back inside the cameraman asked: ‘Why the f*** aren’t there cameras in here?’

If that wasn’t cheeky enough, another of the group then says, ‘let’s go down the security gate’, before the film cuts to them walking through the lobby of the building.

The building was built in 1930, with a company owned by Trump buying the lease for it in 1995.

Its website boasts of ‘world-class management’, who have been contacted for comment.

The climbing video has garnered over 65,000 views, with DyingLlama sharing it with more than half a million of their subscribers.

“They give me extreme anxiety and adrenaline, almost like I’m in danger and about to watch a friend or myself fall. It’s crazy, but EPIC,” said one.

But it has been suggested the former president could lose control of the tower after a judge ruled in September that Trump committed fraud by lying about his wealth.

Another added: ‘I watch these videos every now and then just to remind myself how much I love being on earth.’

Another admitted the footage gave them ‘the chills’.

And another said: ‘I’m not an anxious person but this is at the top of anything I’ve seen in this area of content – I was looking at myself at how tight it was.’

This wasn’t the first time 40 Wall Street has been climbed with some urban explorers having made the climb before.
