Fred Sirieix of First Dates reveals his words of advice to the daughter of diving champion Andrea

Fred Sirieix has revealed that his champion scuba diving daughter is “so tired” as she balances her A levels and strict training regimen.

Andrea, 18, was named in the shortlist for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year after a stellar 2022.

Picking up the award in 2020, she also won seven diving medals at the World, European and Commonwealth Games Championships in 2022.

And First Dates maître d’hôtel Fred, 51, revealed how difficult his daughter is finding things at the moment.

In an interview with The Guardian, Fred said: ‘It consumes everything. You are there at nine in the morning and at midnight you are still there.

‘Yesterday, I said: ‘How are you?’ And she said, “I’m so tired.” ‘She has the A levels of her; she has to train six days a week.

“I told her, ‘Andrea, you’re doing the right thing. What you’re doing is very difficult and not everyone can do it, but you’ve got to keep going, keep working hard, keep your head down, and know in your heart that you’re doing what’s right. right. I think it’s a way of life.’

Fred is set to star in the upcoming series Fred’s Last Resort, which is coming to E4 later this year.

The program will follow 12 Britons at a five-star resort on the Cote d’Azur learning all aspects of the hospitality business. The winner will take a job at the end and £10,000.

Meanwhile, making her appearance at one of the sporting world’s most prestigious events, the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, towards the end of last year, Andrea looked sensational as she graced the red carpet.

The diver wore an elegant red dress that featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and a thigh-high slit.

Andrea added height to her body with a pair of strappy black heels and styled her brunette locks into a ponytail and used a light makeup palette.

In 2022, the diver started with a team bronze at the Worlds, before taking two golds and a silver at last summer’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, including a personal best in the 10m platform final.

The Euro Cup in Rome also saw her win two more golds, as well as the team bronze.

All roads lead to Paris 2024, where she is sure to compete for a first Olympic medal, having finished seventh in her individual final on her debut in Tokyo last year.

Speaking at the Commonwealth Games in August, she said: ‘I’m very, very excited for Paris.

‘Preparations are already underway and I’m excited to see what I can do. I came here with no expectations, I just wanted to have fun and improve.

‘I made the decision to train even harder and it definitely worked. It has given me a lot of confidence.’

Fred has always supported his daughter, and last year he turned up to watch his daughter compete in her first Commonwealth Games.

Fred was there to show his support, taking photos of his daughter from the sidelines at the Sandwell Aquatic Center.

Fred also shared regular updates on social media, as he called his daughter’s diving “poetry to watch.”

He wrote ‘#GoAndrea’ while sharing pre-competition snapshots, before quoting a tweet that called diving ‘poetry to watch’, as the TV star wrote: ‘Perfectly phrased ‘poetry to watch’. Exactly my feelings.’

Holding up his phone to video Andrea and Eden’s performance, Fred donned a red baseball cap and khaki jacket as he proudly awaited the result.

Appearing in high spirits, he was caught laughing with spectators from the sidelines during games, as his son Lucien joined in to watch.

And after the result, Fred congratulated the duo on their silver medal and posted a video of the dive for his 815k followers on Instagram.

The First Dates star also posed for a photo with her daughter before the competition, hugging the sports star as she got ready for day nine of the competition.
