Freak fireworks accident kills two and injures 22 during Hawaii NYE display

Two people were killed and more than twenty injured in a fireworks accident during New Year’s celebrations.

Children are believed to be among those killed or injured in the Salt Lake Keaka Drive disaster, also known as Aliamanu, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

“Major incident in the Salt Lake area HPD, HFD and EMS are responding to a major incident in the Keaka Drive area,” local police said.

“Avoid the area as first responders provide medical and other assistance.”
