A hungry woman in her nineties accidentally had a knife stabbed into her back while eating a cheese platter.
The woman was injured in the stabbing at the Villa Serena nursing home in Robina on the Gold Coast, but her injuries are not life-threatening.
She was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital, where she waited for hours for the knife to be removed. Gold Coast Bulletin reported.
According to reports, the woman reached out to hold the counter when she lost her balance and dropped the knife on the floor, causing her to fall onto it.
She is said to have remained ‘in good spirits’ during treatment.
