Frantic search for missing 14-year-old girl in Washington DC

Police in Washington DC are frantically searching for a teenage girl after she was reportedly kidnapped late Thursday night.

The Metropolitan Police Department has issued a notice seeking assistance in locating 14-year-old Nevaeha Orellana after she was last seen just before 11 p.m.

Authorities have issued an Amber Alert, raising the profile of the missing persons case through social and broadcast media.

Police have described the juvenile as black, 6 feet tall and weighing 130 pounds. She was last seen in the 1300 block of Longfellow St.

According to officers, she was last seen wearing a white shirt, pink pants and black sneakers.

Police have said a person witnessed the apparent kidnapping and said two vehicles were used in the incident The Washington Post.

The outlet reported that a black Cadillac SUV and a silver sedan with the Virginia license plate 10992U were spotted at the scene.

Officers said Friday morning that they had no description of a possible suspect in the case.
