Frankie Dettori earns fairytale ninth Gold Cup win before his retirement on Courage Mon Ami

To add to one of the best days in the circuit’s long history, Frankie Dettori won the Gold Cup aboard Courage Mon Ami.

Riding in the race for the last time before retiring at the end of the year, Dettori was at his best when his unbeaten horse trained by John and Thady Gosden beat the favorite Coltrane.
