Frank Ryan, the last quarterback to lead the Cleveland Browns to an NFL title in 1964, dies from Alzheimer’s disease aged 87 on New Year’s Day

Former NFL quarterback Frank Ryan died on New Year's Day at the age of 87 from Alzheimer's disease.

Ryan led the Cleveland Browns to their last title in 1964 with a 27-0 win over the Baltimore Colts in the NFL Championship game.

The former signal caller was in a nursing home in Waterford, Connecticut, before he died, said his son, Frank “Pancho” Ryan Jr. cleveland.com.
