Frank Lampard insists he would have to be SUPERMAN to fix everything at Everton

Frank Lampard has vowed to fight for his future, but admitted he would need to be Superman to cure all of Everton’s problems.

The 44-year-old comes into Friday night’s FA Cup clash with Manchester United aware that owner Farhad Moshiri is considering ending his 11-month reign after a dismal run of eight defeats in 11 games in all competitions.

Lampard has raised his hands over the results Everton have suffered but insisted he does not need any public backing from Moshiri, the Iranian billionaire whose seven-year spell in charge of the club has been fraught with calamity.

Frank Lampard is under pressure to keep his job at Everton amid his losing streak

The Toffees were beaten 4-1 by Brighton on Tuesday to extend their winless run to six games.

“I assume my responsibility as a coach,” he said. I have to influence everything I can. It is true that when I came in we had a strategic review for a reason to be better in all departments. I would have to be Superman to be in charge of each department, these are not my roles.

We know that there is a lot of work to be done off the field to be better in every way. I don’t know where we’ll end up in the league, but get back to where we should be? It will be a process.

Asked about the conversations he had with the Everton board after the loss against Brighton, Lampard said: “Private conversations, simple as that.”

He then continued after being asked if he was looking for guarantees: ‘No, I have never looked and I will never look for guarantees. Part of my job is to focus absolutely on the job at hand, day by day, game by game.

Despite mounting speculation about his future, Lampard is still focused on the job at hand.

He also stressed that he is not looking for ‘confidence’ from the club’s board amid his poor form.

That is the absolute reality. I don’t need guarantees. I come to work to try to improve a little every day; me, the team, the squad, everything. I’m not looking for guarantees.

Lampard added: “I think I came here almost a year ago and my feeling when I walked into the building, a lot of the Evertonians, who have so much passion for the club, felt that we were heading towards relegation. That’s my honest feeling.

“So we managed to have an amazing time together, that sounds kind of silly or whatever you want to say, to keep us awake.” Everyone saw the images of the Palace, and I lived that moment with the fans and everyone at the club as well.

‘In my mind too, I went home that night, had a glass of wine and [said] This is where the work begins and it’s going to be a difficult journey, because the exhilaration of surviving the relegation battle was great, but the reality was that there was a lot of work to do from there because we were in that battle. .

Lampard stressed that he is prepared to face the challenges that await him at Everton ‘head on’

“So I feel like we’re in that process. No, I’m not stupid, we need to get results, we want to stay in this league, that’s the first thing this year. We’ve just slipped into the bottom three, that’s not my main concern, and I’m not talking about it, I’m just saying we’re in and around this area, that’s the reality, and if we win our next league game we’ll probably be out of the last three.

“So, that’s just one part of the process for me and I can’t affect anything more than that, my point is that I was very aware of what I went into with this job, I want to be successful at this club and whatever the challenges are. Come forward, I’ll face you head on.

In fact, I enjoy them, I enjoy working for this club. It is a real honor for me. That’s why I said in my previous answer that I don’t need guarantees, I don’t need these things, I am a great man who works for a great club and I will continue to do so.

According to SunWayne Rooney is on owner Farhad Moshiri’s shortlist in case DC United manager Lampard’s former teammate in England is sacked.

Moshiri’s list of possible replacements for his manager under fire also includes Sean Dyche and former Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

Wayne Rooney is reportedly on Everton’s shortlist to replace Lampard at Goodison Park

Dyche has been out of a job since Burnley sacked him in April, while Martinez, who recently stepped down as Belgium manager after their World Cup exit, previously managed the Toffees from June 2013 to May 2016.

Rooney is the surprise name on Moshiri’s list, particularly after he turned down his boyhood club last year.

During his time at Derby, Rooney admitted: ‘They approached my agent and asked me to interview for the job which I turned down.

“I think I’ll be a Premier League manager and I’m ready for that, and if that’s with Everton in the future that would be great.”

“It was a very difficult decision, but I have a job here in Derby that is important to me.”
