Frank Lampard has confirmed that Reece James and Mason Mount are likely to be ruled out for the rest of the season.
The Blues manager was speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Brentford on Thursday as they look for a first win since his appointment earlier this month.
Lampard has had a rocky start to his life as Chelsea interim manager, with four defeats in his first four games.
And things may not be getting any easier for the former Everton and Derby manager after he revealed that two of his first team stars would be sidelined this season.
Reece James not available. Probably for the season. Mason Mount probably the same. Potentially for the final game, but probably not. Kai won’t be available tomorrow,” Lampard said.
